One for the “while-my-kid-was-watching-American-Idol” department, some kids have been inventing solutions to airport security and safety issues.

Techdirt has a nifty little post telling a story about kids who are inventing runway scanners and other neat stuff to make our lives a little safer. 

So tell that kid of yours to shut the TV off and get to work!  I’ll tell mine as soon as they’re old enough to understand what an airport is.
