There are a ton of parenting books out there which I’m sure contain wonderful information and advice, but who has time for much more than browsing the newspaper? Christianity Today offers a short guide to kids’ choices and the subsequent consequences. Because it is a religious publication, there is some mention of the scripture, but the focus is on the practicalities of parenting. For instance, when I ask my children to do something, I’m never really sure what lapse of time is realistic to expect action, but this author suggests five seconds. There are other nuggets of advice offered as well and is worth a read regardless of your spirituality.
