Another post on the “locate your kid” front, Mobile TechNews covered another product from Whereify Wireless that is due out this year.

Based on the post we saw at Mobile TechNews, Wherify Wireless offers both a “Locator” product (in the form of a wristwatch) as well as a kid-friendly cellphone, both of which allow you to track your child’s location.  Both allow the child to trigger a 911 response as well.

In our opinion this looks like an intriguing solution - although technology such as this inevitably raises trust questions for parents and children, particularly those with pre-teens and teenagers.
