The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a recall of ready-to-eat meat products for possible listeria contamination. The recall covers approximately 363,332 pounds of meat distributed to stores and institutions in Michigan, Ohio and New York.
Winter Sausage Manufacturing has voluntarily recalled this meat due to problems found during FSIS sampling. No one has become ill, but the Health Risk class is listed as High on this announcement. The press release lists many branding labels that the meat could be packaged as, so it is worth a look to make sure you don’t unknowingly include these in your child’s lunch.
