This Yahoo! news story suggests that we parents need to brace for the shock that our preteens may exhibit behavioral changes that seem more appropriate for a teenager.

Some of todays preteens go on dates, talk on their own private cell phones and chat on MySpace.  It is tough for an old-fashioned parent (who may not be that old themselves) to keep up.
