Apparently, our college students are not learning about the idea of a five day work week.  Many colleges had cut back on Friday classes, but now they are starting to consider Fridays learning days.  If you have a college student, or a student about to enter college, you’ll want to read this article from The New York Times.  If nothing else, you’ll learn what to prepare them for.

For us working stiffs, it is a ludicrious concept.  Why not have classes on Fridays?  Well, because most students stay out late drinking on Thursday night.  It seems that colleges are looking at their facility use, and deciding that it is impractical to stuff all their classes into four working days.  Fridays in higher education may no longer be reserved for party recovery.  Hopefully, the change will come slowly so our students don’t freak out too much.
