I hear many parents talking with irritation about the amount of homework their children have each night. Hi everyone. The posts have been slow here at Kidzwire because I had and am still battling my first severe sinus and inner ear infection. I had no idea how debilitating they can be, and prior to this experience, I never understood how people could need multiple rounds of antibiotics to battle them. But here I am, slowly getting better, and still fighting it.
We will have more KIdzwire updates this week. I hope you are all have a good start to the New Year.

Hi everyone. I have been on a bit of a hiatus lately because we have had two deaths in my family: the first was my cousin and the second was my uncle - both on the same side. It has been a real learning experience to work through their questions and answer them as honestly and as age-appropriately as possible.

Hi all - I apologize for the hiatus in posts. I was doing the working mommy track at a conference, and then I immediately went to visit a terminally ill family member in Iowa (I saw Senator Biden while I was there). The family situation has prompted lots of questions from my kids about death and seeing people before they die. That being said, I am trying hard to keep my kids on a sleep schedule as we work up to these holidays. Here is an article I found interesting on sleep deprivation in children.
A list I subscribe to had a poem describing life as a parent during the Holidays that is definitely worth sharing.
